Save the Date Cards You will Just Adore!

Save the Date cards are cards being distributed before the wedding invites. They are being distributed way in advance to announce to the world the couple's engagement and to "softly" invite the recipient to the upcoming nuptials. STD, as it is commonly called, is now gaining popularity in the Philippines and a lot of couples really spend a lot of time designing theirs to be as unique as their wedding. Most of the time, they even make them a Do It Yourself project! Here are some extraordinary samples of STDs.

Thank you to the Jhune, Djeng, Krisel and Leng for sharing. =)

A Wedding Bright Idea: Do-It-Yourself Unique Wedding Bouquet

Here is an item a bride proudly shares to us as this is a gift, actually a labor of love, of her groom for her on their wedding day. Made of copper wire and crystal beads, Reynold thought that this wedding bouquet will make his Arleen the happiest since it is very unique and at the same time it will also satisfy her practical side as she thinks that flowers are one of impractical expenses of a wedding since they just wilt the next day.

Here are some photos of the lovely bouquet with the proud blushing bride.

Wedding Bright Ideas: Ice Cream Station on Your Wedding

Another great substitution for a dessert buffet that is also gaining popularity nowadays is the ice cream station. It is very easy to set-up since your ice cream provider will usually let you borrow a freezer for your occasion. You just set it up in a corner and decorate according to taste/theme/motif and you already have an ice cream station ready for your wedding! In the Philippines, Fiorgelato is one of the ice cream companies that is now offering ice cream stations for rent for weddings. Here are their quotes:

6 gallons (6 flavors) - 6,000 (good for 150 guests)
8 gallons (8 flavors) - 6,500 (good for 200 guests)
10 gallons (10 flavors) - 7,000 (good for 250 guests)

* Free cups and cones, with freezer and 1 scooper.
** Free delivery

Interested parties may contact Mr. Doc Villacorta at09189343810.

Wedding Bright Ideas: Candy Baskets and Potted Plant Ring Pillows

Here are great alternatives for flower baskets and ring pillows. Instead of flower baskets, you can now have your flower girls carry candy baskets! How cute is that? You may fill the basket with whatever candy you may like and it may even match your motif. For ring pillows, you may opt to use plants in flat baskets or flat pots. Perfect for garden weddings or any wedding with an outdoor reception and/or theme.

Here are some samples you may imitate:

Wedding Bright Ideas: Lollipop Stand

Here is a Do-It-Yourself Project: A Lollipop Stand for your Candy Corner. This Lollipop Stand is sure to add an ump to your Candy Corner. All you need is a styrofoam cone, extra wide flat washer for some weight, some ribbons and a hot glue gun.

Now for the procedure:

Hot glue the flat washer at the bottom of the styrofoam cone. The more the sturdier. Wrap the ribbon around the styrofoam cone to cover. You may use ribbons of your mottif. Decorate with lollipops. The more colorful the better. You may also put a little flag at the top for added zing.

And the finish product:

Wedding Bright Ideas: Candy Corner

For those who wants a dessert buffet but can't just afford one, you can ask your caterer to just set you up a candy corner! All you need is a long table that you can just easily borrow from your caterer and some bowls and plates that you can supply on your own. You can put serve whatever candy and chocolates you want like gum balls, colorful olli pops, etc. Decorate to suit taste and theme. Good for kids and adult alike!

Here's a beautiful sample from a real wedding featured at The Bride's Cafe.
