Jessica Alba for Vogue Italia
Vogue Italia April 2011 Issue
Photographed by Michelangelo Di Battista
Styled by Alice Gentilucci
Loyal minions know how we sometimes get with actresses and editorials. "That actress? Well she ain't no model." Repetitive, we know, but are we wrong? The gleaming, catalogue smiles and princess-y styling that comprise the majority of them tend to leave us bored. But we really have to credit both the stylist and, begrudgingly, we suppose, Miss Alba. You don't normally see as mainstream an actress as Jessica Alba done up like a real Vogue model, all dark and referential and not necessarily pretty in the most conventional, Hollywood sense of the word. Yeah, she's looking right at the lens in most shots, but we suppose that's what people want to see with their actresses. Still, it's a stylish, and given its subject, surprisingly interesting editorial full of images that'll get you to stop flipping through the pages. Good job, everyone. Buy yourselves a cappuccino.
